The Great Kauri Run

The Great Kauri Run comprises of a series of off road trail runs or walks which take place on the stunningly beautiful Northern Coromandel Peninsula.

The 2019 event is the 15th Anniversary of this spectacular event.

The event comprises of the following distances:

  • The Kauri Classic - 32km  -  Waikawau Bay to Coromandel Township

  • The Kauri Half -Marathon - 23km - White Star Station, Colville to Coromandel Township

  • The Kauri Loop - 12km - Coromandel Township

Coromandel Seafood Festival

Coromandel is home to pristine nutrient rich waters and a variety of marine life. The western side of the Coromandel Peninsula is renowned for its aquaculture industry supplying world famous mussels. The Coromandel harbor is the gateway to Coromandel Town supporting oyster and mussel farms, as well as being a great place to catch fish.
Now in its fourth year, the Seafood Fest is held right in the heart of Coromandel Town and offers a variety of stalls including all day entertainment, educational, cooking demonstrations and much more.

Led by Neil Ieremia, internationally renowned dance company, Black Grace, shares a mix of iconic favourites and brand new works presented in the relative comfort of your local community hall and other such informal spaces.

The last 20for20 tour sold out with a few angry punters throwing their toys around, so don’t be one of those guys and get in early.

The Nugget Multisport Festival

Waihi and Waihi Beach in the southern Coromandel are the impressive setting for the spectacular Nugget Multisport Festival.

You'll take an unforgettable adventure from Waihi's charming town centre out to the spectacular harbour and coast at Waihi Beach, before returning to Waihi via breathtaking trails to the rim of the mighty Martha Gold Mine and our iconic finish line under the shadow of the Cornish Pumphouse.

The Nugget MultiSport Festival began in 2010, and the event has grown every year since. It brings you all that's great about being outdoors and active, and rolls it into an event that anyone can be part of. There's the Full Nugget MultiSport Race, Half Nugget Duathlon, 23km Trail Run and the 11km or 6km off-road Run/Walk events, so we really do have something for everyone!

Whitianga Half Marathon

Buffalo Beach Reserve - Whitianga

There is a 21km course, a 10km course, a 5km course and a 2km kids beach dash. Each course can be either ran or walked. We are encouraging this as a fun family event. Everyone can participate in some way. There will be a exciting and festive feel at Race HQ on Buffalo Beach Reserve. The course is a fast and flat scenic loop of Whitianga and the Mercury Bay on both pathways and sealed roads. All races start and finish at the Buffalo Beach Reserve.
